Long Range Wireless Network
Rishel Dairy
Challenge: The Rishel Dairy farm installed a program that allowed them to track their cattle, milk production of each cow, and a variety of herd statistics. But, the owner, John Rishel, only had access to the information in one building – he wanted to be able to monitor the information in his home, in the heifer barn, and in the dairy barn. And another issue – the home and barns were more than 300 yards apart and had a hill between them.
Solution: MePush’s IT team was able to tap into an underground conduit and link the two buildings together. A wireless link was placed in the dairy barn, the heifer barn, and in the owner’s home. The systems were mounted onto plywood on the wall so they are not as susceptible to splashes and spills. Now, Mr. Rishel can monitor his cattle anywhere on the property – at any time of day or night.
