Too many times we have clients come to us AFTER a drive has failed. At this point, we can only cross our fingers that drive utilities will allow us to recover the lost files. More often than not, home customers are most concerned about pictures. We recommend you do the following to prevent this sort of situation

1. Backup your data DAILY. Use an EXTERNAL hard drive and make sure you use an automatic backup utility like COBIAN. Check your backups once a week to make sure they are backing up correctly.
2. Utilize picture management software like Google’s Picasa. This tool allows you to upload your photos from your desktop software straight to your own online photo album for FREE. It is a very user friendly tool that helps you email files to friends, create slideshows, and order prints online.
3. Burn a CD or DVD of your most coveted files once a quarter and store them in your safe or in a safety deposit box at your local bank.
